CultureMeals engages you with the burgeoning local food economy through an easy-to-prepare menu of weekly meals.
It takes a real investment of time and effort to connect with, promote and support the people and businesses that are operating in a true sense of mutual aid and stewardship of the environment. We want to share and expand the network of farmers, makers, and small food businesses we have been growing alongside for the past 3 years and show what a conscious food system can look like.
Sam’s culinary approach is rooted in the idea of complexity in simplicity and celebrating our current time and place. He chooses recipes based on ingredients, and prefers gentle cooking techniques to preserve natural form, flavor, and nutrition. We incorporate CultureBox fermented products for their unique depth and flavor, as well as their myriad of health benefits. From procurement to production, we strive to operate in a way that minimizes or recaptures waste at every step.
The program provides 8 servings of food a week, delivered on Wednesday evenings from 5-7pm. The majority of these meals will come as lunches/dinners. The rest will be breakfasts, brunch items, snacks, desserts, or whatever else we believe is the best expression of the current season or the CultureBox fermented product featured. We will occasionally feature other local producers that share our values (and make awesome food). Each meal comes relatively effortless - heat up or assembly should take no more than 20-30 minutes per meal.
The overall cost is $225 billed weekly via Venmo or Zelle. You are always welcome to pause or cancel, we just ask for 2 weeks advanced notice.
In order to minimize our waste, we need our customers help. Through a $90 deposit, you will be purchasing a carrier cooler bag set and a set of glass Tupperware for your CultureMeals. When we drop off your new meals, we will collect the previous week's packaging thus keeping your food single-use-packaging free.
Your subscription allows us to focus our time and energy on helping build a resilient, robust, and inspired local food system. Your money goes back to the people and businesses that prioritize the celebration of culture, environmental stewardship, and an equitable and kind food economy.
