Shaoxing Pickled Onions
One of our first recipes (debuted October 2019!), the flavor of these simple pickled red onions are brightened and deepened with the addition of Shaoxing wine, orange, and star anise. This pickle is as versatile as it is delicious. It’s a no brainer salad addition (the brine makes a killer vinaigrette as well), a great addition to a chopped pickle relish, or a nice side to a pot roast or other rich main dish. No wrong answers with these.
